Monty Kaser, 24, of Wichita, Kans., defeated Dave Ojala, 21, of Two Harbors, Minn., by 6 and 5, n the final match at the Brown Deer Park Golf Course, Milwaukee.

This was the fourth attempt for Kaser, an employee in the payroll department of an aircraft factory. Arne Dokka, of Studio City, Calif., was medalist with 72-65-137, but lost in the fourth round to George Demling, of Louisville.

Demling had quit his job in order to play. Dokka's 65 broke the course record, which was set by Gary Player in an exhibition match. The team competition was won by Pittsburgh with an aggregate score of 449.
