Derek Fathauer, 21, Jensen Beach, Fla. – Just completed his junior season at the University of Louisville, where he earned third-team All-America honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America…Competing in third APL and fifth USGA championship overall…Only missed cut in a USGA championship came at the 2003 U.S. Amateur at Oakmont (Pa.) Colt Knost, 22, Dallas, Texas – Just completed his senior season at Southern Methodist University, where he was named a third-team All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America…Won three collegiate events in senior season…Shot a second-round 64 at the PGA Tour’s EDS Byron Nelson Championship this past spring and finished in a tie for 67th…Competing in his third USGA championship, but first APL…Qualified for the U.S. Amateur in 2005 and ’06, but missed the match-play cut…Through 46 holes of match play at the 2007 APL, has made just two bogeys, with the usual concessions for match play…Defeated Michael Bielawski of West Allis, Wis., 7 and 6, in the third round to reach the quarterfinals…Also defeated Troy Merritt of Fridley, Minn., 2 and 1, in the first round, and Andrew Rauscher of River Falls, Wis., 3 and 1, in the round of 32…Lowest competitive score is a 61 shot at Dornick Hills at the 2007 Perry Maxwell in May…Finished eighth at the 2007 Northeast Amateur (67-74-70-68) and 12th at the Sunnehanna (67-74-71-71)…Also placed 21st at the Dogwood…Won 2205 Dixie Amateur and was runner-up at the 2004 Dixie Amateur and 2007 Perry Maxwell…Semifinalist for the 2007 Ben Hogan Award, given annually to the best collegiate golfer…Named 2007 Conference USA Player of the Year…Enjoys playing poker and watching sports…Using a local caddie this week (Ben Bartel)…Born June 26, 1985.
Lucas Lee, 19, Brazil – Just completed his sophomore season at UCLA, where he was named third-team All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America...Competing in his second APL. Reached the first round of match play in 2006...Also qualified for the 2004 U.S. Junior at The Olympic Club, where he was the No. 4 qualifier in stroke play but lost in the first round...Opened match play here with a 2-up win over Justin Fraley of Rowlett, Texas. Then defeated Jeff Dennis of Jacksonville, Fla., 2 and 1, and he rallied to beat Carlos Estanislao Goya of Argentina in the round of 16, 2 up...Is the first cousin to LPGA Tour rookie Angela Park, the runner-up at the 2007 U.S. Women's Open at Pine Needles...This summer he tied for 45th at the Northeast Amateur in Rhode Island, shooting plus-13...Tied for 23rd at the NCAA Division I Championship...Named second-team All-Pacific-10 Conference...Lowest competitive round is a 65 shot at Twin Oaks in the 2007 Bakersfield Invitational, which he won...Born in Brazil of Korean parents...Father sold clothing business in Brazil and moved to the U.S. to open a Japanese restaurant. Corey Nagy, 18, Charlotte, N.C. – Just completed his freshman season at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, where he was named to the All-Freshman Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America…Also an honorable-mention GCAA All-American…Competing in first APL, but qualified for the 2004 and 2006 U.S. Juniors. Missed the cut in 2004 and advanced to the second round of match play last year…Father Steve Nagy is serving as his caddie this week…Defeated 16-year-old Seung Yul Noh of Korea, the youngest player in the field, in the third round, 1 up. Also eliminated 2005 APL semifinalist Garrett Jones of Rewey, Wis., 1 up, in the first round and Samuel Cyr of Makawao, Hawaii, 2 and 1, in round two…Once made four holes-in-one in less than eight months…His lowest competitive score is a 66, which he shot at Bryan Park in qualifying for the 2007 APL…Finished 30th at 2007 NCAA Division I Championship, shooting 70-69-69-76…Has two older sisters, Lauren (22) and Lindsay (25). Cody Paladino, 18, Kensington, Conn. – Will be a freshman at Baylor University in the fall. Older brother, Brent, also qualified for match play here and was eliminated in the second round…Second time he has qualified for the APL…Also advanced to the round of 32 at 2005 U.S. Junior at Longmeadow (Mass.) Country Club and lost in the first round of match play at the 2006 U.S. Junior at Rancho Santa Fe (Calif.) C.C…Opened match play with a 2-and-1 win over Phill Bryan of Mustang, Okla…Then defeated Nicholas Becker of Boise, Idaho, 3 and 1, and defeated Jesse Speirs of Bangor, Maine, 1 up, in the round of 16…Has a deep interest in quantum and theoretical physics and is currently reading “Time Travel in Einstein’s Universe.”…Most memorable golf moment was advancing to the second round at the 2005 U.S. Junior because many of his friends came to watch…Lowest competitive round is a 65, which he shot three times in a 12-day stretch in August of 2005. Andy Roberts, 27, Owensboro, Ky. – Works as an accountant for the Schwartz CPA Group…Competing in second APL. Qualified in 2000 in Portland, Ore., and advanced to second round before losing a 20-holer to Adrian Quintela…Qualified for 2007 APL in a playoff in Evansville, Ind., shooting 70-70—140…Graduated from NAIA Brescia University in 2002. School is located in Owensboro…Most memorable golf moment came when he won the now-defunct Kentucky Tournament of Champions in 1999…Also a member of the 1995 Kentucky state champion high school golf team…Earned final spot in match-play field in a 19-for-16 playoff…Then defeated stroke-play medalist and 2007 U.S. Open qualifier Mark Harrell, 3 and 2, in the first round…Chipped in for birdie at 18 to force extra holes in his second-round, 20-hole victory over Nathan Pistacchio of Fresno, Calif…Defeated 43-year-old William Mitchell of Roswell, Ga., 4 and 3, in the round of 16. Robert Rohanna, 21, Waynesburg, Pa. – Just completed his junior season at Penn State…Competing in first USGA championship…Qualified for APL at Donegal Highlands with 135 total (66-69)…Family owns a golf course and restaurant in Waynesburg…Lowest competitive score is a 63 (nine under) shot in the Western Pennsylvania Public Links in 2006…Was the only player in the top half of the 2007 APL draw not to complete his first-round match on Wednesday. Defeated Conor McMahon of Portsmouth, R.I., 1 up, then beat Cameron Knight of Tampa, Fla., 6 and 5, before eliminating Christian Raynor of Atlanta, Ga., 2 up…Tied for 11 th at the Northeast Amateur (72-67-68-73) and tied for fourth at 2007 Big Ten Championship…Won two college events in 2007 (Marshall Invitational and Rutherford Intercollegiate)…2007 first-team All-Big Ten and 2007 Academic All-American…Always putts with three golf balls before every round and the ball he makes the most putts with is the one he puts into play first in the round…Works as a bartender during the summer at his parents’ course…Has five older sisters. PAR AND YARDAGE – Cantigny Golf (pronounced Canteeny) will play at 7,048/7,031 yards and a par of 36-36—72. The par-3 third hole can be played at 223 or 206 yards.
COURSE SET-UP – USGA Course Rating™ for the APL Championship at Cantigny Golf is 74.7 and USGA SLOPE Rating® is 142.

ARCHITECT – Cantigny Golf was designed by Roger Packard and opened in 1989. The 27-hole facility features three distinct nine-hole layouts. The course has been updated by Jacobsen Golf Design. The Woodside and Lakeside nines will be used for the championship.
SCHEDULE OF PLAY –
Monday and Tuesday, July 9-10 – Stroke-play qualifying, 18 holes, (field reduced to the lowest 64 players, who advance to match play).
Wednesday, July 11 – First round, 18 holes, match play.
Thursday, July 12 – Second and third round, 18 holes, match play.
Friday, July 13 – Quarterfinals and semifinals, 18 holes, match play.
Saturday, July 14 – Final, 36 holes, match play. Awards ceremony following play.
ADMISSION – Admission is free. Tickets are not needed for this USGA championship, and spectators are encouraged to attend.
